As a long-time fan of TECNO, I’ve always been blown away by the brand’s ability to bring top notch features to the table without breaking the bank. When the TECNO Camon 30 dropped at MWC at the end of February 2024, I knew straight away it was a major step up for the Camon series – & to this day I still think its a seriously competitive device.
Standout Features
For me the standout feature is its gorgeous 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. The colours are absolutely popping, the blacks are seriously deep & whether you’re scrolling through social media or watching YouTube vids, everything just looks ridiculously vibrant. The AMOLED screen is probably my favourite bit about this phone – it genuinely makes everyday use feel like a premium experience.
Performance
Performance-wise, the MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate processor is paired with up to 12GB RAM (plus that RAM expansion trick) and 256GB of storage – making fast work out of just about anything you throw at it. The 5,000 mAh battery will comfortably see you through the day, and getting it back up to 100% with the 70W Ultra Charge is ridiculously quick. And lets not forget the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support – music and movies have never sounded so good.
photography
As with all Camon series phones, photography is where this phone really shines & the Camon 30 carries on that tradition with a 50MP OIS main camera and 50MP selfie snapper. The pics are sharp, detailed and daylight photos are just stunning – and the optical image stabilisation means you can get decent shots even when its dark.
In Conclusion
Looking forward, the Camon 30 came with Android 14 out of the box, and TECNO promised not one but two major Android upgrades, plus three years of security updates. Which means owners can still expect to get an Android 16 upgrade when it rolls out – and security updates right up to 2027. Depending on when its available in your region, of course.
In my book, the TECNO Camon 30 has aged really, really well. Its got that fabulous AMOLED screen, seriously capable cameras, dependable battery life, fast charging & a performance that doesnt let you down – all of which makes it an absolute winner in my eyes if you want top features without paying top dollar.
